He's likely thinking that Hartman was starting this year and then he's got to beat out Carr, Minchey & Angeli next season.
Either Minchey or Carr was likely to beat him out next year, especially since the OC that ran a system he could thrive in left for Alabama.

Better to take your chances at Bama in a system you know like the back of your hand vs having to learn a new system and beat out 2 very highly regarded QB prospects.

Exactly. And yes, with the operative word being 'won'.

Michigan demolished Penn State. Score could/should have been much more lopsided than it was.

Love watching the USC team under Lincoln Riley. Steady. Relentless. Poised. Mistakes are forgotten as soon as they are made. After the last many years of USC coaches, this is a massive improvement. Caleb Williams improves constantly. Washington State is a feisty, battling team, especially on D and in their running game. SC just wore them down.

MIZ played well and led #1 Georgia throughout until the end, lost by 4. Had a 1st and goal in the 2nd quarter, and false started, ended up settling for 3....could have been the difference. At any rate, MIZ has some ok skill players and some really good players on D...but they Do NOT have a QB.

Kind of wierd in a way. Gary Pinkels teams often were missing this or that, but always had a QB.

USC takes down ASU and remains undefeated. Caleb Williams showing amazing accuracy (my number one trait for a prospective QB).

Man! What a battle between USC and the Beavers tonight. Once again, it's impressive the complete change of personality to this USC team Lincoln Riley has brought in. Oregon State kept swarming and attacking and the Trojans never lost their poise. They just focused on the plays. No panic. Resolute, is the word I'd use to describe this team. In the end, their defense won the game with TOs. Very impressive. Trojans pull out the win, 17-14, but it was a fight to the finish. Great game!

Oregon State will be back. They have a fast, killer defense with an outstanding secondary. Their QB, Chance Nolan, lost this one, throwing TOs.

I’m looking forward to the SEC West showdown between Arkansas and Texas A&M at Jerry World. A&M is two point favorites. Should be a good game.

    Go Hogs!

UNC -2.5 over my Irish. I am holding my breath that Freeman figures out how to be a head coach. 3 games in and he has shit the bed every time. Basically Hackett but with an additional facepalm effort.

Lincoln Riley is the best coach USC has had in many years. He already has them running like a well-oiled machine. Mistake free, cohesive, team football. With Caleb Williams, Jordan Addison and the rest of their weapons, they are one of the best offenses in college ball. Riley is going to turn them into a dynasty. USC is back! 😃
