No. We’re pissed. Still can’t believe McManus told this ****in guy “Oh yeah I can make it from 64. I can kick it over them ****in mountains over there.” And the ****ing coach believed him, and based everything on that. This guy has proven he’s a moron. And the sooner he’s gone and replaced by someone that has some basic football common sense, the better we’ll be.
I think this guy may be dumber than McDaniels.Last edited by spdirty; 09-14-2022, 09:41 AM.

As someone who started a fire Hackett thread, I don't actually think he should be fired. It was about as bad of a debut as a HC can have. Penalties value, horrible decision at the end of the game, etc. As an OC he did fine, but his HC decisions were worthy of heavy criticism

Theoretically he never played in that stadium before. Meaning, he played in it but a hostile environment which makes it TOTALLY DIFFERENT.
Imagine if you will you had a divorce with your wife. You have to go to the house you built for the both of you to get the kids. She naturally gets the house (if you are in a no fault state.) So you go the house you built but she is living there with the guy you caught her with.
Same house but TOTALLY DIFFERENT HOUSE.

Wouldn't feel like home without it.

but after one season isn’t out of the realm. New ownership has no ties to any of these people. They are not their hand picked coaches/GM.
If the Broncos go 5-11 there’s no way Evero keeps his job. And Hackett could be gone too. One season firings do happen.
the in game decision was bad enough. But following it up with Tuesdays fail was even worse…

He flip flopped the entire decision during the span of the press conference. He ended up defending it more after initial saying he should’ve went for it.
that’s clown behavior and the guy is lost. If you say you ****ed up, don’t try and defend the **** up right after you admit the fail. That’s horrendous.
not one HC in history would put their FG target at 64 yards. I was wishing he ****ed that up and meant 54 yards. At least that would’ve been just an error. But to double down at 64 as the target? That’s the worst HC move I’ve ever seen. From ANY coach. It makes Staley look rational.

His players know what he did. Believe that!

The crazy part was that as angry as I was Monday night (I honestly didn't sleep well Monday night), there was a gnawing part of my soul that felt fairly pleased and encouraged. Because as colossal as that schadenfreude was Monday night, it doesn't even compare to the crap we put up with over the previous five years, with Meatball and Leader of Men. It may have surpassed any one, in-game decision either of them ever made. But theirs were consistent. And you never got the impression with either of them that we could hope for anything more. And finally, in spite of the penalties and turnovers, we looked like a competent team that could figure it out. We moved the ball. We made adjustments. It's not hard to reach the conclusion that it's first-game rust, and that it will improve.
It's like you're married to Amber Heard. She takes a crap on your bed, and you decide you've had enough. And then you quickly marry Brittney Spears. Sure, she's crazy. But it's such a relief that you don't have to think about rolling over into a pile of scat, the craziness seems almost manageable - at least for awhile.
