  • Melvin Gordon, the worst rb in broncos history

The problem is that he is good enough that he actually makes you think he is a good running back.

No idea why they even brought him back.

but he’s just a part of the problems.

Williams should be the bellcow. Gordon should only be on the field to spell Williams

That's the worst part of it - he puts up enough numbers that you think he's decent... or even (dare I say) "good." But they really are "empty" numbers. In almost every key situation since he has been here, he does something boneheaded to kill us.

I’m ready to see what Boone can do. I’m done with Gordon. Williams should be getting 15+ carries per game. Shit is infuriating!

There are going to be emotions after a game like that, man. I totally get it.

I get emotions are hurt but the dude just put up 70 yards on the game splitting carries.

The OP states worse of all time?? I mean come on, this is a huge over reaction.

The fact he sees the field as much as he does when we have Williams balling is what I’m pissed about. Why we don’t give the ball to Williams on the goal line in a goal line I-formation is beyond me. That’s not Gordon’s fault the coaches put him in the game. Gordon is hardly the worst in team history.

Gordon is a fumbler. That’s just what he does. Williams fumbled once all last season, iirc, so he gets the benefit of doubt today. All RB’s fumble once or twice a season, that’s normal, but Gordon takes it to a new level. With all the good he does, he can’t be trusted, and that’s a shame.

I never remember Gordon fumbling to the Broncos when he was a Charger. Maybe I’m wrong on that, but I’m not sure I am.

All I do remember about him as a charger is that he made no effort to slow down when he ran over Wade, and put him in the hospital. That still bothers me to this day.

the rob had to try and put the ball out

Shannon sharpe mentioned how the broncos keep rotating the rbs each series. Mentioned that it doesn’t allow for either to get a rhythm running the ball

i gotta agree with sharpe on this one. It’s time to free Javonte and give him most of the carries

it should be a 70-30 split not 50-50

It would be nice if Melvin wasn’t constantly trying to underplay or make excuses for his **** ups but he always does. Not a very mature player.

Years ago, I remember Bill Parcells telling an interviewer why certain backs fumble the ball more than others. It was mostly forearm length. Too short of forearm, like Eric Bieniemy (I think was the example he used), or someone that had too long of forearms. Don’t know if Gordon falls in the latter category, but if he does, he’s not going to be able to fix it, according to Parcells.

That's super interesting actually, maybe explains why Phillip Lindsay was fumble proof, despite having tiny carnie hands.

So maybe longer arms less fumbles. Idk

Gordon was literally string to stretch the ball over the goal line on 4th down while being tackled. Holy shit, how dare he try to score on fourth down?

This board is going full retard today.

Wasn't that fumble against the Chiefs going in to win the game. That's the frustrating thing with him.
