  • 2022 NFL Season Kickoff — Other Games — Thread

The day has finally come. The 2022 NFL Season kicks off tonight with the Bills and the Rams!

Who do you got? I'm taking the Bills.

I've got Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford as my fantasy QBs with the Rams defense.

Who should I start at QB!?

    Always start Allen….always…

we need a night before football thread…maybe not exactly like the OM but something we can bump each season. Saturday nights homework.

The Bills are going to take a big buffalo dump on the Rams tonight. Allen will throw a pass so beautiful and so perfect millions of red blooded Americans will ejaculate in their pants simultaneously.

For me, I look at an unlikely factor for tonights game - the health of Cam Akers. If "he's back," then I think McVay understands how to work the game and the clock to limit the possessions for Buffalo and make this a close game in the 4th quarter.

If it's an all out passing game, then I'm giving the edge to Buffalo.

Well you used a high pick on Allen so start him. Stafford is wasting a spot on your roster in a 1 QB league!

            It's a 14-team league. Two IR spots + 6 Bench.

I took Allen in the 3rd after getting RBs with my first two picks. I picked fifth. It's the highest I've ever drafted a QB. Decision based on the run at RB/WR and the fact he had like the most fantasy points last year— it seemed like a smart move.

I picked Stafford since he was hanging around in the 10th round or so. A handful of other guys hadn't chosen a QB. Value pick to use as trade bait if anyone's QB1 goes down or underperforms. I've traded a QB away the past two years in this league due to injuries. Though I totally missed that BUF/LAR have the same bye week.

            QB: Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford
RB: Najee Harris, James Conner, Dameon Pierce, Brian Robinson Jr. (IR), Rex Burkhead (Pierce Back-Up)
WR: DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, DeVonta Smith, Treylon Burks, Jahon Dotson, Jameson Williams (IR)
            TE: Austin Hooper, Mike Gesicki
            K: Harrison Butker
            DEF: LA Rams

Harris and Conner were choices due to sheer volume they will get and performance last year. Pierce and Robinson should end up being their respective team's #1. Had Robinson not got shot, I'd assume he'd be starting for Washington. Pierce seems to have the lead in Houston for Rb reps. My WR group is an absolute toss up, but I'm hoping one of the rookies or Smith really breaks out.

I think the Rams take it. Buffalo's secondary will be weak without White. They'll have no answer for Stafford and Kupp.

Donald and Ramsey will slow down Allen enough to get the win.

I mannaged to get Wilson and Allen. It is a super hard decision. \

Allen is incredible and likes to run to the FF points are good . However he is playing the Rams D and that is a great D.

Then you RW3 . I would think he is looking for revenge, and the Chicken D sucks . Also they have not taken one snap together as a team under the new regime.

Very very tough first week decision.

                I would love some advise.

You used a high pick on Allen and passes on RB/WR. You start him every week.

Honestly, the Bills should just put Vonny in a cryo chamber with weed, mdma and hookers until week 15.

I can’t recall who said it, but essentially Von Miller was signed for 6-8 game changing plays in the postseason.

                          i think that’s right

for real, but they'll never do it because the nfl is pretty dumb. having him healthy after a whole season will be a challenge.

I have to admit, tonight's matchup is a great way to start the season.

Same, the Bills. Funny on NFLN they had the start em, sit em segment and it said to sit the RAMS and BILLS defense. I guess it's going to be the offense that can overcome the other defense.

you have to believe the bills have him on a rep count, or circles games on the schedule where he will be more active...

Definitely a 50:50 game in my opinion. It is a good matchup to start the season. My heart says Bills. My head says Rams. I certainly would not bet on it either way.

Fangio wasted 3 years of Von Miller.

Also Fangio was able to make a bunch JAGS (mostly) play solid D.

Does anyone recall (because you would know) anytime someone on Fangios D made a game changing play on defense? That's what Von does. Shame.

Yeah. Von Miller is a HOF player that dumb ass Fangio put on a leash. Got to release the dogs if you have a guy like that. That was my complaint from the moment he was hired. I even posted about how Miller would loose sacks and I tried to get people to understand that Kalil Mack would have had way more sacks if he didn't have to deal with Fangio's bend and bend and bend over schemes.

                                                  But that's behind us now.
These new cats will be released finally this year.
We won't have Von. But Between the top three edge Rushers we have, we should be pretty good in that department.
Browning is going to make it easy to let Gregory or Chubb walk. That dude can run around an edge damn near horizontal. And Chubb gets a raw rep off his injuries. But he beat out Shane Ray fair and square. If he's healthy he is a beast when released.

Gonna be nice to see our Edge guys jumping offsides sometimes over hesitation and letting the opponent determine if they break off in coverage.

**** Fangio and his good for losses and DNumbers schemes
