  • ** CoronaVirus Makes Me Sick **

1 out of every 500 residents of Florida, Michigan, N Dakota, S. Dakota and Ohio - are dead from Coronavirus.

1 out of every 346 New Jersey residents are dead from Coronavirus. .

The list of states poised to catch up and join their ranks is a long one. If you live in one of them, and you're competitive, are you really gonna let those loser states pass you like that? Really?! Beating those states is as good a reason to skip the vaccine as any other I've heard - go for it!

Coronavirus is the 3rd leading cause of death of Americans for the years 2020 and 2021 - easily outdistancing "accidental deaths" for the #3 spot (though the 2021 numbers are still just estimates).

Sounds like precisely the right time to practice civil disagreement and discussion.

My question is for anybody who has decided not to get the vaccine: What source of knowledge or well of wisdom are you drawing on to decide you'll dismiss the advice of the great majority of medical and scientific minds in America and the world?

      Very reasonable question I think.

I had the ‘flu’ multiple times since 03/20 and it came and went like it always has. I’m not going to take a mRNA vaccine to prevent me from feeling like shit for a day once every 6 months at worst. Unplug from social media and the msm and Covid doesn’t exist.

ive never worn a mask, washed my hands more than normal, social distanced, quarantined, ect. I trust my own science.

The truly ironic part? Hucksters like Abbott, DeathSantis, et al, are simultaneously pandering to the MAGAbillies and killing them off. By the time 2024 rolls around, they'll be lucky to have a voter base left, at the rate they're bagging and tagging folks. But I guess that's what voter suppression laws are for.

My guess is that it's the same fount of wisdom that produces anthropogenic climate change denial and all the attendant pseudoscience.

Mark Gaffney. So why don’t you go find him and bring him here. Then try to have a discussion with him without running to the mods demanding he be censored.

Gaffo didn't need to be censored.

He just needed a rubber room and a few hand puppets to keep him company. Lord help us if he ever finds this place.

Let me get this straight: Getting vaccinated to save others during a pandemic is a personal choice, but what a woman does with her own body should be mandated by the government?

News flash: If you ban mask mandates, outlaw abortions, dictate what educators can teach in schools, and stop people from voting, you're not the party of "limited government."

"The founders themselves understood that freedom required self-control and a sense of civic responsibility. They regarded unrestrained individualism as a danger to the virtues required by a free republic, and they did not confuse narcissism and selfishness with liberty.

To previous generations of conservatives, this was more or less self-evident. But in today’s GOP, those notions have been scrapped, along with so many other ideas and principles like fiscal responsibility, the rule of law, support for liberal democracy and the foundational concept that character matters..."

It’s why “patriotism” is such a hard sell these days…. My goal is to extract as much money from America as possible and retire on a quite island eating mangos… !!

Yes, I did mention New Jersey was worse. I don't know about New York, but here's the article, and whadd'ya know? The last sentence there - underlined in RED - kinda says all states - at least on average - are as bad as the Dakotas. Although, in % of citizens vaccinated and number of new cases per capita, the Dakotas are right up there near the top.

Wait! How many NoDaks died driving their cars into telephone poles? I don't argue their statistics, but the stat by itself means nothing unless there is a comparative stat.

Frankly, I think people not getting the vaccine is just evolution at work. Just stay the h3ll the way from me and my family.

Actually there IS a comparative stat: 16 months ago, Covid-19 passed 'accidental deaths' to become the #3 cause of death in the United States. Despite the fact there were relatively few Covid deaths until mid-late April 2020, it finished 2020 as the #3 cause, and through August of this year it's far outdistancing accidents as the #3 cause.

And ... evolution? You're very defensive about this - raising the specter of your family needing "protection" from the vaccines as though they were marauding invaders.

Whew! That seemed like a funny mindset for you.

But the angry defiance you were playing there - that's very familiar.

Guy I know very recently told me - let me get the quote:
                                            .
"Censorship by MSM and social media has prevented me from gathering sufficient scientific evidence to believe the vaccine is needed and safe, so no I have not yet been vaccinated."
                                            .
                                            . . . . . . .

Now again - but for a different reason - Whew!

That is just plain Cuckoo-for-Cocoa-Puffs. Didn't tell him that, told him to watch Tucker Carlson if he's so worried about mainstream message universality ... and further complicating all this is that the numbers show (with this guy too) that irrational anti-vaxxers are not necessarily Trump people.

Whew. Sometimes Agamemnon talks me off the ledge when I get out here ... anybody see him?

You are too forgiving, IMHO. I don't believe children deserve selfish, arrogant and destructive "beliefs" and QAnon type theories of those who spout them. They are not patriots. They are too selfish for that. I don't care if they give Trump BJs. The lack of community and public health concerns is further cause for limited empathy for the anti-vaxers.
