Who knows but it's a solid signing at this stage of the offseason and he might not be needed as a starter for a long period.

It is possible that the Saints were also trying to sign Schobert because, as soon as it was announced Schobert to Denver, the Saints made a move for Jon Bostic.
And we don't know if Paton could have done anything else to bring Anthony Barr. A reporter mentioned that Barr passed on a better offer to join the Cowboys, so maybe the Broncos even offered more money.
Barr said he chose the Cowboys because he wanted to play for his former coach George Edwards.

I don't get why people are down on Schobert signing. He is a proven starter in this league and can play at a high level at times. He can get depth in pass game and make a ton of tackles. He has shown he can stay healthy unlike the 2 current starters. I won't be shocked if Denvers starting lineup at ILB for the majority of the season are Schobert and Singleton. Can someone point out why they don't like this signing?
