  • Sad story out of Oregon. Take 2 minutes and enjoy life as you just never know when it will stop.

Oregon Ducks tight end Spencer Webb was killed in a diving accident less than a mile from Eugene, where the university is located, according to The Sacramento Bee.

The 22-year-old — who is a native of Sacramento — reportedly died after hitting his head during a cliff-diving accident just west of Triangle Lake in Lane County.

Webb was entering his fifth-year junior season this fall and was projected to be a starter.

Unreal. The kid has it all going for him and then out of know where he's gone. Life's to short.

Bummer. That is some risky behavior though, not sure I would characterize it as out of nowhere.

I grew up cliff jumping. I know what they say about it but if you know the area it's not anymore dangerous then using a diving board.

In lakes, you often can get more mass wasting that moves rocks into different areas. It's always risky. I agree that some local who knows a spot is deep is a lot safer than a tourist or non-local who just watched people do it. They might not know where to jump to. Sad either way because a family lost their loved one.

Damn. It is always sad when a young person full of potential is lost over anything.

          RIP young fella.

Growing up in CO I never dove off cliffs into water... I jumped off cliffs into water, and some of that water was just rivers, but I never dove... too bad, way too early to die
