It’s just hilarious that Hollywood who is so anti gun ownership etc are the ones killing people cause they are too inexperienced in handling a damn gun. This could’ve all been avoided if someone knew how to properly handle a gun. ALWAYS check no matter if a prop gun BB gun water gun etc etc. NEVER handle it based on another’s persons safety check. Baldwin was supposed to check it himself. Negligent crime but he’s not the common folk so he won’t be charged.

Won’t be surprised if they ban all guns on every set and replace the scenes with knives.

Was reading an article yesterday that said some moviemakers are going with CGI instead of prop guns loaded with blanks. Accidents like this (with prop guns) really don't happen all that often. The highest-profile death of this kind was Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) on the set of The Crow. Someone had put a real bullet in a prop gun...

He should do time for murder 1. But will get manslaughter. There's never a reason not to check a gun you've been handed. --Negligence no matter the case.

So anti gun nut Alec Baldwin has killed more people with a gun than my entire collection. Maybe he should have spent some time educating himself on guns first and maybe that woman would still be alive.

Ain't that the truth. He must have thought it was a good idea to dry fire a gun he didn't inspect at someone. It's hard to imagine scenario where he doesn't spend time in jail.

I must disagree with the law firm of Omega & Bronco. While it looks to me like there will be serious criminal charges, none will be pressed on Baldwin.

No. As I understand it, the armorer is the last call.

(I don't think you'd make the cut at my firm. )A real shame. Noticed some articles are now saying the gun went off accidently.

I never knew one could be handed and gun and fire it without concern so long as the person who gave it to you said it was empty. Goes against every firearms training out there.

Probably not: he doesn't work for some imaginary "firm" - he's a real lawyer.

LOL @ the wingnuts thinking the fact that Baldwin is pro-gun regulation (or, "anti-firearm," as they like to spin it) has any bearing on the case.

Ignorance is no excuse...there's never a reason not to inspect a gun someone has handed you. Democrats will throw minorities in jail for life for this kind of reckless behavior.

Just like I said earlier in this thread.

experts say the same thing :

The fatal prop gun shooting on the set of "Rust" could have been avoided if the proper gun safety protocols were adhered to, according to a firearm safety expert.

"The world of movie sets is a little different and there's a trust factor that probably is going to get reevaluated at this point when someone, an armorer [or someone else] hands an actor a gun and says it's hot or it's cold, meaning it's loaded or it's not loaded. In firearms circles, we would never, ever do that," Gresham explained. "If I see my friend unload a gun and he shows me it's unloaded and hands me the gun, I will immediately open the action and verify that the gun is unloaded. I don't trust anyone. You verify for yourself."

If Anti gun freak Alec knew what to do nothing would’ve happened. ALWAYS verify for YOURSELF. No matter A 40 caliber or a water gun.

Some interesting thoughts being tossed around. Alec might be looking at charges because he's a producer instead of the shooter. Another words he was supposed to be overseeing the safety protocols on the set. That's right-- a guy who doesn't inspect guns that are handed to him is in charge of safety protocols overseeing handguns.

They also seem to have a boner over ammo. They want to know who brought it on the set. Like that matters. Bringing ammo on the set is a concern, but not checking if guns are loaded before you fire it at someone isn't. Seems armorer could just say ammo is needed for testing weapons. Much easier sell than not inspecting weapons before people start firing them at each other.

IMO the Hollywood fix is in...some bs charges where nobody is punished will be handed down, and Hollywood promises to make changes...basically a sweep under the rug.

Several of the crew were out shooting, with live rounds, before the incident, including the AD. It was the AD who handed the gun to Baldwin stating it was a cold gun. The AD has since admitted he did not check the gun before making it available.
