Awesome to have a championship caliber team around town again.
Though I have to wonder if the lack of attention around here, up until now, is attributable to Kroenke’s baffling decision to not let us watch the Nuggets and Ava when they have the best player and best team in their respective leagues.

Nugs and Avs are great teams no one knows about because Stan Krok is a moron. Consequently...no one gives a shit except hardcore fans. If Stan had his way ...no one local would see them in the playoffs this year. Think of it this way and it was on local news. cable companies have about 1.5 million subscribers in Colorado...roughly half those people even have the package to see the Nugs and Avs. There are roughly 5.5 million people in all of Colorado.

Id rather our guys heal up these 8 to 11 days and worry about rust vs worrying about health. Ideally Tampa/Rangers goes to 7 and they beat each other up!

Been watching the Avs all season long (the Altitude Network) and they are best team in the NHL. Credit Joe Sakic for putting together a team that has so much talent and depth. Joe has made several trades that have panned out and obviously he's drafted well with players like Makar. I credit Sakic with all the teams success

The Avs have won all year. People worried about the lengthy time off haven't been watching. They swept the lightning and it didn't hurt them. The Blues were their toughest match up. The Avs have lost twice in the post season and only once in regulation. The other was a miracle that ultimately didn't affect the series outcome. And they have yet to lose on the road.
Now they will get much better goaltending from either the Lightning or the Rangers in the finals, but depending on how long that series goes, we could get a lot of people back.
So relish in a watching a fun, super fast, very deep team.
And f**k Kane.

I have a friend who has club level season tickets to the Avs. He says his seats on the open market are going for $5000/ticket. I'm a former Avs season ticket holder and I was at game 7 win vs the Devils in 2001. While prices were no where near that back then I sold home games 2 and 5 of that series, attended games 1 and 7 (the two Avs home wins that series - they lost home games 2 and 5).
Rangers would be the easier matchup, but if it's NY I expect the open market ticket price will be more than it would be for Tampa. Lots of rich Ranger fans out there in the NY market.

The Avs have been amazing this year, with the exception of the last 10 games of the season. They really should have had the Presidents trophy, but they changed their lineup and played with some of their guys from the Eagles to set up for the playoffs. Guess we avoided the curse though, as Florida got bounced.
The best game of the playoffs was the 4-0 beatdown in Game 2 vs the Oilers. Avs were just a wall all three periods and Franci was nails in the pipes.
Most hardcore Avs fans are just happy to be past the 2nd round, but here we are with the Stanley cup in sight. They'll have to solve the goalies in the East. Both Vas and Shesterkin are great goalies (that series is going 7 for sure - hope we face the Rangers). We'll need to play boring hockey for the entire series to avoid giving up breakaway chances. Look for more high scoring games as we give up soft goals. I think Bednar is going back to Kuemps for game 1 if he's healthy. Really hoping Kadri can play with the thumb as well. Go Avs Go!
